When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

i got clippers and whenever i use them to save a few bucks people always tell me i missed a spot, is there a way around this when cutting one's hair solo?

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

Set up at least 2 mirrors to check yourself from all angles. Most men I know cut their own hair - they feel its a waste of money to spend $15-$20 for a clip at a salon. I agree. My husband hasn't had a professional haircut for years. If you get desperate, ask a friend or family member to do the back for you.

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

Erm,

Nope :]

Basically

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

because your not a pro. duh

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

Because you haven't learned the technique of cutting your hair... it's better off to either go get a cheap haircut from Fantastic Sams or Cost Cutters... or another idea is go to a salon and ask a hairstylist how she would do your hair and then you'll know.

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

haaa haaa haaa

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

nope........go to a professional........ good luck :)

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

i've been cutting my own hair for a couple years now.

the key trick to getting those hard places is two mirrors. on infront of you and one behind you.

you may not get it perfect but it workd better than with only one mirror.

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

cuz ur not professional.........

When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

because you're not a hairdresser, and you cant see the way your hair goes properly.

i doubt a pro hairdresser can cut his/her hair nicely as well...

WHAT DO I DO!! AHHHHH

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

if you did this mess to your self and now you know not how to fix it i recomend you go to a hair saloon where a specialist can help you, if you don't have the money to spend ask someone you know and trust to help you fix it, i do have to warn you that your hair might look a lot shorter at the end and if you don't want to go through so much trouble try using some gell.

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

Come on, it can楹搕 be that bad, you can either go to a stylist to get it fixed or....maybe do what a friend of mine did, wear a cap everyday untill it grows again.

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

use hair gel and bobby pins to hold it back, obviously you know as a woman that there are many creative styles for pins.

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

hahahahahaha I'm sorry but I needed a laugh after a long day at work.If they won't go behind your ear then why not cut them just below your eyebrow and have bangs,Not any lower then the eyebrow cuz if u do it wet which u should. Then they will shrink up when they dry.Good luck hin

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

ok first i would go to a salon and if u got no money you should put your hair in a pony tail or whatever and let the bangs hang out, but if the aren't even and seems messy you can either tell one of your friends, sister, borther, or mom to cut a slant starting face the face and going down or just cut it straight across so it wouldn't look messy. well you should do that with your bangs to many hairstyles i do that almost all the time and as soon as u know it ur bangs will grow. good luck and have fun

HAIR CUT GONE BAD!!!!!! please help?

BUZZCUT!!!!

Just kidding, that happened too me, I went to a hairdresser

Why does a barber put a bag over your head prior to cutting your hair?

My friend sent me this link (which is awesome by the way, you'll need to use HEADPHONES to fully experience it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagj... which is this "virtual barber shop" %26amp; at the guy in the audio says that "all the fancy baber shops do that". LoL! I asked my friend who sent me the link %26amp; he said it's so your hair is easier to cut?

Can anyone explain how that works? Because it makes absolutely no sense to a girl like me..

Why does a barber put a bag over your head prior to cutting your hair?

I think you're getting you leg pulled. Never in all my visits to a barber has a bag made it near my head.

Why does a barber put a bag over your head prior to cutting your hair?

I spoke with a friend of mine. e says it's referred to as a tent. Tey use gas under the tent to kill termites that may be feeding on the wood above.

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

I really don't want to spend money to go and have my hair styled (want to add layers since it's long and plain and lacking volume/body). I read that you could do this by putting a ponytail in the exact middle of your head and cutting the end of the ponytail off. How much I cut depends on how drastic I want the layers? Has anyone ever tried this? How well does it work?

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

Actuallt I think putting your hair in a ponytail would just give you a bob.

For layers...

Part your hair where you normally would (like side or middle)

Then take a chunk (any chunk...but not too thick) and comb it away from your head. Cut it, and you will have different lengths of the strands, which add volume.

I'd be careful when doing this, and work very slowly unless you have done this before.

But I know that I for one couldn't fo it myself. I would just go to a salon but if you can cut your own hair it saves time and money.

Hope I helped!

-Michelle

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

I suggest you go to a salon, even a cheaper one because you could seriously mess up your hair.

Best of Luck

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

I would recommend spending the money and getting someone else to cut your hair. Not even professional hairdressers cut their own hair so imagine what yours will end up looking like.

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

Don't do the ponytail thing!! You'll mess up your hair. Just go to the salon or forget the layers.

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

ive seen many people get there hair cut(layered) and it cost only like less than 10 bucks.i dosent cost a lot at all.and if you attempt to cut your own hair and you ruin it,im preatty sure you would get angry.but its your choice, but i would suggest you to go to the salon and do it.

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

go to a salon...it doesn't work well doing it yourself n u will end up with points..im going to cosmo school so get it done by someone else or professionally...try the mall close to u

Cutting my own hair but I want to add layers.?

Actually this is a great technique for layering hair! It does give a VERY layered look and the closer the pony tail is to the front of the head the shorter the layers will be around the face. You can do a zig zag part around your head just above the ears, pull that up in a pony tail, and cut about an inch off, then do a second zig zag part about eyebrow level and do the same thing. I would start by cutting off just that inch on each one though, you can always do more but you can't put it back!! Good Luck!

How do you get someone to cut your hair correctly?!?

Since I don't know how to cut my own hair, I unfortunately have to get someone else to do it for me....and I hate it every time I get it cut.

I will bring in a picture of what I want, and I will ask them "Can you do this and do I have the right kind of hair for it to look like this, because if not, I don't want my hair cut." Not being rude. And then they will tell me yes, and I can tell when they are cutting it that it's wrong. Or at least I think, but I can't say anything because I don't know how to cut hair! What do I tell them? And should you still pay for a haircut you don't like?

And if I happen to like the haircut, which I doubt, how much should I tip at a salon?

How do you get someone to cut your hair correctly?!?

You may have to shop around or get recommendations from people whose hair cuts you like.

It is hard to find a good hair stylist. Ask questions. Don't feel like you shouldn't. If something doesn't seem right, just ask. Tell them that you don't know but haven't been happy with the way your hair has been cut in the past so you are wonderring if there was a reason they cut it the way they did. A good hair stylist will be more than happy to answer your questions and address your concerns. Speak up. It is your hair and you have to live with it. I usually tip about 20%.

How do you get someone to cut your hair correctly?!?

Sadly few are taught to cut hair with regard to what a haircut fits the shape of your face, nose, position of the eyes.Go to an expensive one or/and experiment with different styles on a computer with your picture, drawing or just try finding people with a similar face. Report It

How do you get someone to cut your hair correctly?!?

Don't go to cheap places. you want to go somewhere where you actually have to get an appointment and yes it will cost more but you will get somebody more experienced.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to

I've been dating this girl for about 4 months and she has really pretty long dark hair with slight curls in it and I found it very attractive on her and I met her in that style. However just the other day she went out and got her hair cut shorter than chin length and i had no clue she wanted to do that she just came back like that. Should I be honest and tell her she looked more attractive with longer hair in my opinion or just lie and say I like the hair cut? Also is just going out and cutting your hair short without mentioning it normal to you guys? I find it odd to be that impulsive and I wish I could have been more involved in helping her with a new look if she wanted to try something new. What do you think? What should I do?

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

I think it's important to tell her how you feel. But when you do it (if you decide to talk to her about it) don't be angry about it or accuse her of acting strange or whatever... j

Just simply say that you liked her long hair better and hope that she'll let it grow out. Come on it's hair, you might not like the short hair, but it will grow back..... BTW I wouldn't mention that she looked more attractive with the long hair, just say you liked her long hair better....=) Ask her if it was an impulsive act and just be happy for her if she likes her new look.

I would let it go, it's just her hair. It wouldn't be worth getting in a fight over if you truely care for her. Just let her know you felt hurt she didn't include you in trying something new. Hopefully she'll feel touched that you care.... if you approch her in the right way about it.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

She just wanted to change her looks and there's nothing wrong with that.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

Dont do anything!! Might as well go with the flow and after it grows out more mention that you "really like her hair longer". Woman change their hair without thinking about what their men will say. Dont take it personally..were just crazy!

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

I find it odd that she didn't even mention it to you, but she doesn't need your permission to cut her hair. I'd just tell her that you would have appreciated her mentioning it, but maybe she was ready for a change. It will always grow back.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

Short hair is for guys! You better hope she doesn't have any impulses that involve other guys.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

Ya guys hate that. Normal. Just let her know you miss her long hair.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

it's her body you should support her besides I think short hair is sexier give it a chance

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

I think you should be honest with her. In relationships, honesty is always the best thing to do. You shouldnt be afraid to tell your girlfriend the way that you feel. You should be able to trust her. If she was a good girlfriend, she would understand.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

please dont telll her you dont her it!! theres nothing a girl hates to hear more than that their boyfriend doesnt like the way they look! if anything, tell her its cute, but her long locks were sexier. Theres no rule that says you have to tell your boyfriend before you get your haircut, its a spur of the moment thing sometimes

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

I do that. I tell people I'm getting a hair cut then get it all cut off (everyone thought I meant cutting like 2 inches off). Last time I got mine cut "boyishly" short. Like... 2 inches long. My boyfriend said it was okay but he liked it better long so I'm growing it out again. It was fun while it lasted (It's still barely over my ears but it's growing fast!).

Tell her what you really think. I'm sure your opinion will mean something to her. Also be understanding that it was her choice to cut her hair in the first place. Good luck.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

Hey, not to be offensive in any way but you need to let her know you don't appreciate her doing things about her appearance. Say she was beautiful how she was and thats the way the girl you were attracted to and you didn't want it to change. I'm not the guy to ask. hell i can't get a date.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

okay yeah hair grow.

but hmm... this is hard. Yeah its pretty normal for girls to go out and cut their hair without telling their bfs.

But if you tell your bf that you like it she might keep it that way thinking that you like it better now.

But if you say you liked it better the way it was then she might get bad. And go home and cry and regret cutting it.

Maybe you should tell your gf that you like that way she looks and you don't care if her hairs long or short.

My girlfriend went out and cut her hair really short spontaneously without telling me she planned to?

I think it is her hair to cut if she wants to and your opinion doesn't mean anything. Most men don't give a rat's butt about women's hair. They just want them to have some.

Hair cut help, please?!?!?

I'm cutting my boyfriends hair, it's fine in the front, but in the back it's starting to become a mullet. I just need to know how to cut the back and maybe trim the front part. If anyone can give me some tips, I'd really appreciate it!! Thanks!

Hair cut help, please?!?!?

I'd recommend getting out the clippers. Buzz buzz. Seriously, if you've never cut someone's hair before, the one inch gaurd is your friend. If you don't have shears, use your index and middle fingers as guides, cause you're gonna have to eyeball it.

Hair cut help, please?!?!?

Oh no! LOL

Do you have clippers? You'll need to look online at some hairstyles to maybe figure out what you are doing wrong. It's very hard to give advice when we can't see and aren't there with you!

If worst comes to worst you will just have to cut the top so that it is the same length as the back and sides. Don't worry if he grumbles about it, as long as it looks presentable then its all okay. Then in a couple of months when it grows back a bit send him to the hairdressers - its only $14 at my local salon for a mens haircut! Plus then you won't have to stress so much and that is definately worth the cost of someone ELSE cutting it in my opinion.

Best of luck!

Tutorials on cutting your own hair?

I have had my hair the same way for a long time now and it doesn't match my style any more. My hair is about 18 inches long (not very thick) in a side parting with a side swept fringe, quite ordinary for me nowadays. I'm planning on cutting my own hair tonight or tomorrow, thinking of having a fringe, for a change, but I don't know yet. Are there any tutorials out there for cutting/styling your own hair? I found a few but everything I have seen is either old fashioned or very 'safe', I'm looking for something more bold/striking.

Tutorials on cutting your own hair?

Here are a lot of websites.

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=na...

I cut my hair before. But that's just when I decided to make my own bangs. I cut my hair DRY... because that's what it will look like in reality... not when it's wet. That's just me though.

I suggest going to get it cut professionally just to be sure. I think your hair is worth $10-$20 ....

Tutorials on cutting your own hair?

Don't ....go to a salon.... They will give you bold/striking and beautiful ~~

Merry Christmas ~~~

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I think it was a cry for help

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

hell yeah---poor little rich girl----please!

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

no, just a way out of having hair available for drug testing...

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

what else?

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Yes

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Isn't every weird thing she does just another cry for attention? I liked her when her first album came out, but she's just gotten progressively annoying.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

its probably that and that she was depressed about kevin leaving her. but now she got justin.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I think pretty much her entire life is a cry for attention.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I agree that it was a cry for help.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Definately, the ****** is loony%26gt;

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I think she was frustrated with life and just needed a change. Some times we all do some drastic things.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

All of the above.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Maybe not so much attention, maybe she is just crazily confused about her entire life and wants to change so much, but doesn't know where or how to change any aspect of her life. She seems very spontaneous and quick to act without thinking as we all can be sometimes....

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Yes

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

i think she has drug and or alcohol issues and desperately needs help and intervention.it is really sad i think.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Hell yeah! First marry K-Fed was a mistake and then bearing two of his kids before kicking his sorry butt to the curb, and now she's partying like Paris and Nicole.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Possible. But it could also be REAL depression. Think about: mother of two at ONLY 25, divorced... off the spotlight... sad!

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

No, I think she has Post Partum Depression and cant cope with it. She needs lots of help!!

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

maybe. but since shes in rehab for drugs and she looks like she was doing serious ones she probably doesnt want to take the chance of pulling her hair like most people who go through withdrawels. there are other reasons still to do with withdrawel symptoms. thats why most rehabs keep your hair short. not to menton its easier for tests. she doesnt pull of the bald look to well does she.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

uh no...have you seen the shampoo prices nowadays?? who wants to pay all that...im going bald tonight

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I think it was a publicity stunt. Just my opinion.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

absolutely.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Nope. I think it's the step right before trying to kill herself.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I think she did while a little tipsy, and also in a despair moment. when one just doesn't care what comes next.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

No I think she's a terrible mother and wack-job with to much money and time on her hands.

She's got good roots. If she can just remember where she came from things could get better for her and I hope they do;even though I've never liked her.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I THINK ITS THE DRUGS,LIQUOR AND CELEBRITY LIFESTYLE EFFECTS.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I dont know since she's in the news all the time for being a bad mother and clubing and being drunk all the time. I think she needs to go see a therapist.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I don't think Brittany needs to cry out for attention. She gets enough as it is.

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

I feel sad for britney going Bold to bald headed. mentally she must be thinking what you thought!!!!

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

Yeah, it was. Obviously she has some "issues" that need to be addressed. Hopefully the rehab worked some magic!

Do you think that brittney cutting her hair was just a cry for attention?

If she did, she got the wrong type of attention for it....Psycho.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

I have serious split ends ! I don't want to cut it though , is there any other ways I can get rid of it ? And will split ends make my hair fall out ? Please help !

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

Sorry, you have to cut your hair. if you keep the split ends, it'll work it's way up to the middle length of your hair and snap your hair, you'll lose it half way, but your hair wont fall out, and it'll hardley grow if you dont trim it. you dont need a drastic cut, but you will if you let it continue., if your split ends are ony like 1/4 of an inch , then that's all you need to take off. dont dont need to cut more than an inch off. just take care of your hair to prevent it in the future

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

i think u could just get it trimmed, it wont even look like u got ur hair cut. or there is special shampoo that u can buy and other hair products

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

Impossible

unless you're willing to glue it back together.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

Split ends are just the ends...its not the top of your hair..ii think you should get a trim..to keep your hair looking heathly..straightening your hair too much can give you split ends too!! soo if you do end up getting a trim..dont always straighten your hair!

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

There is no way to get rid of them without cutting them. You can make them appear less noticeable by using shine serum on the ends or using hot oil treatments and deep conditioners often. If your hair is that bad I would get a trim, even a small one, because it will look and feel a lot better. It will grow back and look gorgeous...trust me, just get the trim

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

no they wont make your hair fall out.

BUT.

i have split ends and the only way to get them out is by cutting them.

you dont have to cut alot only like an inch.

it will grow back fast so dont worry.,

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

it wont fall out. but it will get worse. trim ur hair once every 3 months and u wont have this problem

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

If you really don't want to trim your hair, try doing this. When you are shampooing and conditioning your hair rub the ends of your hair between your palms. Works for me, and I got that tip from a hair stylist. Also rinse your hair in the coldest water possible to smooth out the cuticles of your hair.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

split ends are caused by dryness. try a leave in conditioner.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

You can't get rid of them, you'll have to get your hair trimmed. You should probably do it sooner rather than later because the longer you wait the more you'll have to cut. Trust me I study Cosmetology.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

Just trim it...you can not get rid of them any other way...your hair will look so much more healthy if you get them cut off and don't wait too long or you will have to get more than just a trim to get rid of them and keep up with your trims..every 4-6 weeks.

How can I get rid of split ends without cutting my hair ?

I have the same problem, and i dont want to cut it though, what im doing is, i wash it every other day, with shampoo and conditioner, then i go to my hairdresser twice a month for cellophane and hot oil to cover the split ends and dryness, i used ceramic iron to straighten my hair, and i put cuticle coat, and it looks good soft and shiny..

hope it helped!

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

i have lots of split ends but i don't want to cut my hair (if nothing works then i will) which shampoos or products should i use?

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

No product or shamppo can eliminate split ends, they can only help prevent them. I would trim a bit off at a time, to slowly get rid of them. Make sure you are brushing carefully, also overwashing can dry your hair out making them more susceptible to split ends. Brushing the oils from the top of the scalp to the ends (like in the olden days - 100 brush strokes may not be necassary tho) can help protect hair as well. I don't rely on any store-bought product. i use rosemary essential oil and olive oil to deep condition. But again, once their split their is no "fusing" them back together - no matter what the commercials say.

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

hmm.. you don't.

the lightest trim can help though. even straightening your hair won't hide it.

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

u dont

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

Your split ends arn't just going to go away. You have to cut your hair. Actually you don't have to cut it, you have to just trim it a little. After you trim it it will grow twice as fast and twice as long as before.

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

You have to cut it. Split ends mean the hair is literally split and if you don't cut them soon the split will run up your entire hair shaft! (scary and gross, i know) so yeah... cut them.

also, after you cut off as much as you are willing too, if you still have split ends i would suggest going out and buying a silicon based creme to run through the ends of your hair. keeps them from getting knotting and looking gross, but still doesn't get rid of them.

How do you get ride of split ends without cutting your hair?

well once the ends are split there split =D you can't get rid of them without cutting them. if you want them gone completly just go to the salon and get all the split ends cut, then just grow it and take care of your hair so you won't have any split ends. don't comb your hair while wet. or straighten it. try avoid coming if possible just untangle your hair with your fingers.

How can i get the Victoria Beckham hairstyle without cutting my hair?

I need to get the victoria beckham hairstyle for a play role. i cant get a wig, and i dont want 2 cut my hair, but is there a way 2 just get it pinned up?

How can i get the Victoria Beckham hairstyle without cutting my hair?

if you have layers, then you could pin the rest of your hair up and cover it with the layers.

A question about cutting my hair..?

ok..Well I have had a perm for a while..but I havent got a perm since july or june..so as a resuly its kinky REAL kinky..and I really dont know what to do...I'm supposed to get a perm next week..

So here are my questions...

Are they gonna have to cut off alot of my hair..?

Will it hurt extremly bad when they perm my hair because my new growth is so thick..

Should I just get a press/braids to resolve this problem?

(note: my new growth is about 3 or 4 inches thick..)

A question about cutting my hair..?

it shouldn't hurt too bad if they base your scalp well and you do not irritate the scalp... you may have to get your ends trimmed or cut dependimd on how much breakage you have. your scalp will be a little irritated being that you haven't had a RELAXER in a couple of months but u should be ok.

A question about cutting my hair..?

well my hair did better pressed and braided so thats what i would go back to

A question about cutting my hair..?

no they will not cutt your hair same here i just got mine a week ago i habe about in inch and i wait every other 2 months and i make sure my roots are in hardcore thcik but they will not cut your hair, and or just say do not cut my hair DO NOT CUT MY HAIR!!! that's all

A question about cutting my hair..?

I would say wait till you get your perm done, 'cause if your getting your perm done professionally, they're going to trim it and then after your new growth is straight, you might not want to cut your hair. And how did you get your hair to grow sooo fast? I've been trying to get my hair to grow faster for months.

I finally got my hair cut!!!?

Mousse?? It was foamy and he put like 3 pumps into my hair!!

I finally got my hair cut!!!?

i dont have a clue....you can call and ask....the styling products used in the salon are for sale also.....oh, and i am so glad you finally got your hair cut....i hope you really like it

I finally got my hair cut!!!?

You can call and ask to talk to the person who did your hair. Hope it helps!

im terid of havin permed hair. bbut my step mom said the only way i could take it out is if i cut all my hair. Isthere an other way?

I want to take out my perm with out cutting my hair is it possbile?

I want to take out my perm with out cutting my hair is it possbile?

I want to take out my perm with out cutting my hair is it possbile?

I'm thinking of getting hair bangs, how can i tell if the bangs will look good on me WITHOUT cu

Are there any FREE websites to see what the bangs will look like. Or is there a certain head/face size/look that bangs will look best on?? Any help will be appricated, thx in advance!

P.S If i do decide to get bangs, how do i cut my hair so the bangs will look right and last without getting split apart? Thx again in advance!

I'm thinking of getting hair bangs, how can i tell if the bangs will look good on me WITHOUT cutting my hair??

do you mean striaght across bangs? either way whichever kind of bangs you want its easy to test what it will look like. with straight across bangs pull the hair forward and bend it back upwards so that it looks like your hair is that length. to test side bangs just take long hair from one side and pull it across your forehead and then pin it and pull it down so that it looks like its swooping. side bangs look great on most people as long as they are done correctly and straight across bangs only looks good on people with a long, oval face shape.

I'm thinking of getting hair bangs, how can i tell if the bangs will look good on me WITHOUT cutting my hair??

well, there are a lot of websites that have virtual hair style make overs. it lets you upload a photo of yourself and add different types of hair cuts and hair styles. it is fun when you are just bored and when you are experimenting a hair style.

One good web site for this is:

I'm thinking of getting hair bangs, how can i tell if the bangs will look good on me WITHOUT cutting my hair??

Ugh. I hate those sites. It all depends on your face shape.

Once you know your face shape, then you can already determine if something will look good on you.

Take good care of your hair! It will add to your charm - who can resist a person with lovely, silky hair? So do try out the tips! Hope these little tips have been useful! :)

GoOD lUCK!

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans

* Yogurt

* Almonds

* Vitamin B

* Fish

* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

My daughter has really really long hair, and I noticed this morning while I was brushing it that it is slowly getting split ends, in the middle of her head. I do not want to cut it, it really is beautiful. Is there some form of treatment you can suggest for me to use on her hair? Thanks!

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

Wow talk about synchronicity :-) I just was noticing the same thing about my 4 year old daughter's beatuiful long hair so last night, after her bath, I put a dab of Redken Extreme Anti-Snap leave-in conditioner on her wet hair. Amazingly, I brushed it out this morning and there were no split ends!

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

sorry, keep trimming it. that's what keeps it healthy.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

Start using a very high quality hair conditioner and having it cut just 1/4 of an inch or so every few months.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

Just get a trim, it wont hurt. And hair grows faster in the summer anyways!

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

There is no way..you have to cut or trim them...inless....u can alwasy glue them..JKlol

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

You can put leav-in conditioner on the ends to condition them, but I am affraid that without cutting them you can't really get rid of them.

I would say go to a good hair salon and ask them for the conditioner they will have better things than reagular pharmacy

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

Its impossible. Ive had long hair most of my life and split ends are inevitable. Some will twist the hair and the split ends will pop out then you can cut them, but its just putting a band aid on the problem.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

First off it's her hair and if she wants to cut it then let her. Keep trimming the ends every 2-3 months. Deep condition her hair once a week. Don't use hairbands that have a metal thing in them or rubber bands.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

deep condition and besides trimming that u can do

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

I've noticed that my hair splits in the middle of my head too. I have layered hair, like Jennifer Aniston's old "Friend's" cut.. my beautician said to regularly trim the ends of my hair but for split ends in the middle of my head to use a Frizz Eaze type product. There isn't anything that can be done about those hairs, other than to smooth them down and eventually they will fall out.

I use Garnier Fruictis products, they work beautifully with my hair.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off.

You can't repair the hair once it has split but you can temporarily diguise the split by using serums and protectant sprays. The hair will be temporarily fixed but you can't undo what is done. In time the split will work it's way further down the shaft of the hair which means cutting even more of the hair off to remove the damaged hair.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

just trim the split ends. you have to trim it every once in a while to keep it healthy

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

If there was I would of hoped I would of known about it but to my knowledge there isn't. Split ends can be treated by just having a trim, I have my hair cut every 6-8 weeks and never have more than 1/2" - 1" cut off because that it all that's required to get rid of split ends. However if you do the opposite and choose to leave the hair and not get it trimmed then it will just get worse until more length will have to be removed to fix it.

I used to be the same in terms of getting my hair cut but when I have it done now I can't tell any length is missing and it just looks better.

Hope this helps, Matty.

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

as far as i know, there is no way to get rid of split ends without cutting them. split ends are parts on your hair where the hair has become so brittle that it has broken and has/will die. if you really don't want to cut it, then there are shampoos and conditioners that you can use to help strengthen it. you need a really good moisturiser that isn't too thick. i would also suggest that you only wash her hair every other day, because over washing can dry hair out. you might also want to use a leave in conditioner in her hair every week or so over night too. i recommend redken products. they've done amazing things with my hair. hope this helps!

How do you get rid of split ends without cutting your hair?

There really isn't a way to. You can prevent them so they don't show up for a longer amount of time. Make sure when you put conditioner in her hair make sure its getting to the ends. You can also put a leave- in conditioner of hair serum to protect the ends more and make them stronger. If she straightens/blow drys/or uses a curling iron on it tell to stop or not use it as much because that will dry it out and make it weaker. Also try not to brush it as often.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

I have some dead ens I need to get rid of dang I just wish my hair was full and healthy I hate my dead ends%26gt;

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

hi brenda! u can comb ur hair nicely upto ends daily.and apply good amount of oil in ends and then shampoo.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

I don't know of any other way other than cutting them off. Good luck!!

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

sorry darling, but you can't make your dead ends disappear unless you cut them off.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

nothing is going to get rid of them unless you do cut it but shine or defrizz can conceal them.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

Nope, nothing to do but snip them off. A good conditioner, like Pantene Pro-V or Sunsilk will tame them a bit but nothing will get rid of them. Good luck and God bless

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

dead ends? do u mean split ends? cos they can be got rid of when they're cut. for dead ends use volumising shampoo, conditioner, leave in cream, spray, moose... fluff ur hair up by the roots or use a straightener to curl the ends in or out. this should give ur hair more bounce.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

sorry I don't think there is any other way. You could have the hairdresser cut of as little is needed but you will have to cut some hair off. Try to keep your hair healthy so you won't have to cut so much off.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

There's really nothing you can use at home. However, a hairdresser can snip or razor them without cutting the length much.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

i do not think that there is anything that can be done. they need cutting.

Well, think of it as a summer hairstyle. Shorter and healthier

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

I suggest using conditioner on the ends.........that's what I do.....and some hair gels

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

The only think you can do with dead ends is cut them off..sorry. Split ends or dead ends will split all the way to the top of your hair. And if at all possible watch out when using alot of heat, combing your hair while it is wet with a fine tooth comb and try to keep your hair from too much sunlight...what kills the hair sometimes is the atomosphere outside. Good Luck.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

There is nothing else you can do. There are repair products, but they just smooth them down, or mend them, for the day, you cannot fix them.

Just trim the very ends, it's only a half and inch or so.

If your hair grows slowly you can get a really nice, natural bristle brush, and brush it daily. Part your hair at the top and brush at the scalp a few times then brush it down the length of your hair, pull that section of hair over and out of the way, brush again in the new area. When you are done your scalp should be oily, massage with your fingertips for a few minutes and then wash well. If you aren't sure how to do it go to a salon and ask for the service then you can do it yourself next time. It feels really good too!

This helps push the oil out and onto your hair to protect it, making split ends less likely. This also stimulates hair growth! Sometimes the oil glands slow down and get sorta clogged, and your hair will suffer. It also helps stimulate your scalp, which inturn stimulates hair growth. You do know the minute your hair leaves the root it is all dead right? So the oil from your scalp will help it stay nicer longer. You will be able to let it grow longer before it starts to dry out and split.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

you can use split end serums after you shower to get the look of healthy hair, but the only way to get rid of them is to cut them off. Also, the sooner the better since split ends can crack all the way up the hair shaft, so in the long run, you'll need to cut more off.

What can I use to get rid dead ends w/out cutting hair off!?

im not very sure but im sure that youll find out soon good luck!

I wanna get a hair cut?

I'm thinking about cutting my hair. I have a whole bunch of hairstyles printed out and cut out of magazines. I want shorter hair for a change, but I'm scared to do it. Should I cut it in steps instead of all at once, like keep trying a bit at a time? Any suggestions as to how I should cut my hair? I'm not very good at doing my hair right now, but I'm so willing to try, hoping that it's something I can just wet in the morning and dry quick. We shower at night because we have to get up pretty early in the morning. Thanks

I wanna get a hair cut?

yes you're absolutely right! cut your hair in STEPS! because that way you won't regret cutting your hair super short or something. and you can see which length and style suits you. and are you cutting your hair yourself?? well i would say a style that you can just wash and dry and.. its there is a fringe. it looks stylish but you don't have to do anything to make it look stylish..

I wanna get a hair cut?

well......here is what i think.......

fat = short hair

skinny = long dark hair......good luck with that

I wanna get a hair cut?

Don't cut your hair off!!!!! yOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE END!

just get it trimmed and choppy styled

I wanna get a hair cut?

Just do it. you can always grow it out. I change my hair constantly and doen't understand it when people have the same style for 40 years. Mix it up! I just cut bangs for the first time in 15 years and everyone loved it and said that it made me look years younger (not such a great thing, since I am nearly 30 and I don't really want to look 19). But I love the change, people's reactions, and the different things I can do with it. If you are too timid about it, then you will probably talk yourself out of it. Just dive in! It will be fun! And If you don't like that style, try another. You have your whole life to play with your hair. Have Fun!

Take the pictures you have to your stylist. And when she is done cutting, have her style it. It is a little more money, but so worth it. I made a huge change once and having my stylist style for me was so worth it! She taught me what I could do with it and very little time. I needed a straight iron for that style and she gave me pointers on which one to buy. She was great! I spent maybe 3 minutes straightening the new do and that was all I needed to do.

I wanna get a hair cut?

Cut your hair from the longest to the shorter styles. If you don't like the one at the end, then i don't know what you'll do then...

I wanna get a hair cut?

Well I would really say don't cut it at all!!! you are gonna feel sad!! and regret it!!

but if u really want to i guess start by cutting it in steps, that way u can see if u do like short or not.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I have very soft straight hair..I'm thinking of getting dreads but I'm scared that When i don't want them anymore I may have to cut off all my hair.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

WAIT!! You don't HAVE to cut them all off! This is a time-consuming process, so you must be very patient. Every day do two or three. DO NOT attempt to do your whole head in one day. It causes headaches and a lot of pain!

Take one dread near the nape of your neck (bottom of the hairline) and trim off the last inch or so. Saturate it in light olive oil and massage it through for a few minutes, working in a downward motion. Begin by taking a wide-toothed comb to the last centimeter of the dread. DO NOT start at the end of the dread closest to your scalp. OWWWWCH!! Work all the snarls out of that last centimeter, then work up to the next, continuing SLOWLY. It may help to have a friend do the dreads on the back of your head to avoid arm cramping! You'll probably want to wear a hat a lot while you're in this process, because you'll have half your hair in dreads and half out, eventually, which'll look really crazy!

When you are finished (this could take a couple weeks!) you will want to go in to a professional stylist for some serious maintenance! Ask for a Chelation treatment to get all that buildup and excess oil out of your hair, then a good deep conditioning before a trim, to make your ends look healthy and less choppy.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

i have known 3 people to have them and all had to cut their hair when they got tired of it.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I heard you can't even shower your hair with dreads and you don't cut it.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

Well the only solution you have is to, trim your hair every month until your dreads are all gone.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I think you do have to cut it! 閳?br>Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

they say you can comb them out. but i really think that would hurt like hell. thats why i wont get them. you have to be commited!

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I wouldn't get them! They aren't very attractive!

i do think you have to cut your hair off!

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I got them done at a hairdresser's once, and she just tied them off with cute little ties that I could just take out when I wanted the dreads gone. That looks different than other dreads, though, so I don't know if it's a style you'd like.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

please don't!!! my friend had the most beautiful curls and she got dreads. sooo yucky. she started to hate them and so the only thing she could do was to chop her hair right off leaving only about a centimeter there. it wasn't a very feminine or cute look. dreads are very dirty and unpresentable. but if it's something you really want to do, please research it. you could end up making a big mistake if you don't.

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

to get rid of dreads you have to shave your head and start over

Can I get rid of dreads w/o cutting my hair?

I was thinking of getting dreads once myself. My natural hair is like Alicia Keys. A down-side to getting dreads is not being able to change your look too much. The maintenance can be a little bit more expensive than you think. To keep them from look bushy, you will have to go to a professional stylist. Dreads are only for the committed. You don't have to cut your hair to start them, but you will if you decide to go back to your natural hair. If you want something similar to that look without the committment, then i suggest kinky twists. But dreads are for you right now.

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

She looks like a waitress in a diner, now. I don't think Jessica Biel is that hot, the body is fit and props to that, but the face looks....wierd. She had great hair, though. Now I see pictures with it like, all short and choppy and greasy looking, like the new Katie Holmes cut. MISTAKE.

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

I agree, big mistake.

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

LOL Report It

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

I haven't seen pics of Jessica but yeah...I don't like short hair. I had it all my life and just now at 24 yrs of age noticed that longer hair is better. Katie Holmes cut her hair to look like her daughter. I guess it is true once they settle down with somebody they cut the hair short and as by the years go by they go shorter.

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

It'll grow back.

"Not hot" you say....

They say a woman's hair is her crowning glory ... sounds like Jessica just got "de-throned" !!

Did Jessica Biel make a huge mistake by cutting her hair into that god awful, mousy, drab cut?

She's better off with a long hair. Straight or in sexy curls, but long is the best hairstyle for the hot %26amp; sexy Ms. Biel.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

I've been thinking about getting dreadlocks, but I want to make sure I know how to get rid of them if I dont like them :)

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

There is an agent that will help you comb them down. You would more then likely have to cut a few inches from the end and saturate your hair with a deep conditioner. Then start detangling. You will loose hair but you loose 50 hairs a day anyway wether or not you comb. If I were you I'd be very sure that I wanted to take them down. If your not they wont look like what they did when you first loc'd.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

You don't. Also, one cannot "get" dreds, they develop over time. It will take four to six months at a minimum for your hair to lock. Once it's locked, there's no way to get rid of them but to shave them off.

Lakyn, if I'm so wrong how did my locks get so long? I know kids are going to stylists, but they're not coming out with locks. Those kids could easily pull their hair apart after they walk out of those boutiques. You cannot create dreds in a barber's chair - it takes time. There is no such thing as "temporary dreds." If you can get them out, they were never dreds.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

how about not get dread locks????

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

i have no idea, you might want to go a salon and ask them before doing it`

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

DO NOT GET THEM!!!

ohh it's horrible. scalp itching, dandruff, peeling, it pulls the skin and irritates it and makes your hair disgusting. I had them one time and it was so so so so soooo horrible. my hair was a complete tangled mess for months and I looked like a homeless hooker. oh please don't do it! I'm a stranger here trying to save you from utter destruction! if you want to get rid of them you have to have a professional do it and it hurts so bad, they cut and rip and snag it all up. definetely not worth it.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

you cant get rid of them without cutting off ur hair, and yes you can get dreds you just go somewhere and they will professionlly twist them, then after that you just wait for them to develop more.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

Yeah, that first answerer is completely wrong. You can GET dreads through the use of chemicals, etc. But yeah, you can't get them out without cutting them. I would say do them yourself temporarily. There are websites and turtorials for it. I reccomend http://haircrazy.info. There's a tutorial there.

How do you get rid of dread locks without cutting off your hair?

The only way to get rid of dreadlocks without cutting off your hair is to have fake ones in the first place. My niece makes fake dreadlocks for herself out of yarn. She wants to start selling them online. She could be wearing dreadlocks one day, and have smooth hair the next.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

Suppose you walk in the barber or salon and a random person is selected to cut your hair. Should you be quiet and let them cut your hair, so they don't lop an ear off, or should you engage in small talk to break the awkward silence? Should this be different with someone who cuts your hair on a regular basis? What is the proper etiquette?

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

I've been in this type of situation before. I go to this small salon near my house and even though the same girl cuts my hair, I don't feel obligated to chat it up the entire time. I'm friendly and we chat back and forth and ask each other questions, but for the most part, I just let her do her job and don't bug her with small talk. I think it depends on the stylist too, some of them are very chatty and love talking to you, and some aren't. I don't think it's rude to be silent. It may be a bit more awkward, but that's about it.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

If it is someone new cutting your hair, then you should make small talk about your lifestyle, needs, etc so they can have a little insight into if you are a high maintenance person or someone that just likes to "Wash and go".

If it is your regular stylist, then they should already know you and unless you feel the need to talk, just close your eyes and let them do their thing.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

If its someone that cuts your hair on a regular basis then I say why not engage in small talk. and If it makes you uncomfortable then just keep it very on the surface... but if its a random person cutting your hair. you can use your disgression as to wether or not you want to make small talk. if not just read a magazine or be quiet. but usually they will iniciate it. it shouldnt be awkward. its not a big deal. I dont think they mind if the customer talks to them or not.. lol

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

I like to tell them where I like to dump the bodies. I always get a great haircut and don't even have to leave a tip.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

You're the paying customer, so whatever you decide. None at all as long as you're still polite. A good hairdresser will respond in kind.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

I personally feel uncomfortable when stylists want to gab. They don't know me, I don't know them, and to act like we know each other is fake. I'd rather have the time to relax and read a magazine.

With my manicurist, its different. I see her every other week for an hour at a time and we have gotten to know each other, so with her, the conversation is pleasant. But with random hairstylists, facialists, etc, I prefer things quiet.

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

I always chat with the person cutting my hair. It's too awkward to be silent. A hair stylist is your best friend for that 15 minutes!

How much small talk(if any) is appropriate when someone is cutting your hair?

I prefer not to chat. Let them do their thing.

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

before would get the dead ends off , but then after would get the frizz. any oppions from hairdressess?,.. or who ever?

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

Always cut hair after a perm. Perming can cause more damage to split ends and cutting after will assure you get them all out.

usually after u perm it!!

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

I think it would be better to cut it after. If you cut it before, there is a possibility of it being way too short and that's not something you want to have to deal with until it grows back out.

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

well when i got my pern they cut it after, and i think that's so it's be even and not like crazy everywhere lol that would be a lil' funky!

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

your best bet is to get a cut when you get a perm....this way your hair will look its best and your curls will look healthier

What is best, cutting your hair before a perm or after?

I went to cosmetology school but never got licensed...

I was told that it's best to trim BEFORE perming because once you've permed it you will then be cutting a portion of the curl off. This leaves you with what looks like fishing hooks at the end of your hair rather than the curls...

good luck!

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

My boyfriend grew his hair out (not really long, but about 3-3.5") and it's starting to look a little ragged at the ends. He wants me to trim his hair instead of having to pay for it (which I'm fine with) but I've never cut men's hair before. I've cut long hair straight across, but with his hair it is all at different layers, so to speak...like men's hair often is. Any tips or how-tos from people who have done it before?

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

I cut my husband's hair, but it is short. I find it's better to cut in vertical sections rather than horizontally, then you don't get what I call the "shelf look". But that might be different for longer hair. As long as you are paying close attention to how much you cut off of each section, it's really hard to screw it up.

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

just don't use a bowl.

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

Besides the obvious answers of HOW to cut a man's hair. Please talk to us. For men, it is one of the most awkward things to do. I hate going for haircuts because I can never tell if the hairdresser wishes to talk to me and I never know how much to tip her. Also, I never feel comfortable enough around certain hairdressers to ask them to shape up my hair exactly the way I wanted it. If there were some hair salon that knew how to treat us scared men when we come in, I'd be all over it!

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz then use the Gillette Mach 3 and some edge gel...

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

try using scissors

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

If you don't know how to cut hair, just shave it all off. It'll look better than if it were messed up, plus you won't have to worry about messing it up. Everyone wins.

Does anyone else think the first guy looks like Howard Stern? No offense to the first guy if you don't want to look like Howard Stern, or if you actually are Howard Stern.

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

Use a machine so the you dont have to worry about adjusting the length.

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

I fade my husbands hair and I am not even a stylist I also cut my two kids hair, it is very hard at first. If you start they wont let you stop. It is actually a huge bother. Do not start because he wont leave you alone! Tell him it will be well worth it if he were to just go out and pay for both you and him! plus you guys will fight about every haircut!

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

I use the longest clipper attachment on my guys naturally curly hair. Make sure he is not sweating cuz it gunks up the clippers. ALso do it away from the kitchen cuz it flies all over the place even with no breeze LOL. Part it like you want it (or he wants it) and then just cut carefully. Cut too little at first, easier to cut more than wish you could. Also be free enough to trim again after a shower/hairwash cuz it may lie differently then. The other very very important thing is to use hair scissors only! Invest in some if you don't have them. A kit is fairly inexpensive - about $20. If you use clippers, keep them oiled. Otherwise they pull and don't do a good job. Never use your hair scissors for ANYTHING else. Good luck. I agree it is expensive to pay for "just a trim."

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

why not just make it easier and just shave his whole head....?

Do you have any tips for cutting men's hair?

I'll try using scissors.

I am a black man wanting to start cutting my own hair and looking for tips.?

Well, you could go to Wal Mart or Target and get a hair cutting kit for, like, twenty dollars. They usually come with a razor and some trimmers. You can use this to cut hair yourself. Since it doesn't cost that much, it'll save you money over time.

I am a black man wanting to start cutting my own hair and looking for tips.?

many blacks shave there head this days

When should u cut your hair?

Im 40 going on 27! lol. Iam 5ft 2 inches tall and weigh 102 lbs. My hubby says he'll whoop my butt if I ever cut my hair- it is well past my butt. I just noticed OH MY GOD 3 gray hairs and I do not want to ruin and dry out my hair by having to color it all the time which only leaves hair cutting! I do love my hair also. But it seems like all OLD gals have short hair and blue hair! lol. Advice?

When should u cut your hair?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't, I repeat, DO NOT dye your hair! If it's healthy enough to have that long, dying it will ruin it, as you said. And don't cut it! Take pride in your hair! You've obviously cared for it to have it that long, so don't ruin it now. And you are not an "OLD gal" so don't even THINK it! If you are so terribly concerned about those three grey hairs, pull them out. You will go grey eventually, everyone does, but don't worry about it. Your hair is healthy, so it should grey gracefully and beautifully!

When should u cut your hair?

save your hair...

It is beautiful in length, as well in sight I bet.

once you start to color hair you have to keep doing it to play catch up with all the gray's.

I'm a strawberry blonde who doesn't have to worry about graying.

Is it true urkranian girls aren't allowed cutting their hair till they're 21?

There's this freaky ukrainian girl who lives accross the street from us. Apparently, she's never cut her hair before. It's down to her legs. When I asked her why she wouldn't cut her hair till , she's 21, she said her dad's "punishing" her. Which i find hard to believe. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with her being ukrainian.

Is it true urkranian girls aren't allowed cutting their hair till they're 21?

Really?? That's dumb!!!!

Is it true urkranian girls aren't allowed cutting their hair till they're 21?

I don't think that is true at all. I know three Ukranian girls and they cut their hair all of the time. It has nothing to do with their race.

Is it true urkranian girls aren't allowed cutting their hair till they're 21?

umm no

my friend (urkrainian) has a sister, she has crazy scene hair and its been short long, and about 12 different colours

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

I hate going to get my hair trimmed because of what happened yesterday. I "had" long hair. I do nothing w/ my hair other than wash it and brush it, but it's all good. My hair has no cut "style" it's all one length which you would think would be a fairly simple and quick cut, right? That's usually the case anyway.

I went in yesterday and asked for the usual 1-2" only. I also physically showed the chick how much I wanted taken off due to my past experience of them liking to chop it off.

The chick chopped 5" off!

This isn't the first time that it has happened in my history of having long hair. It NEVER happened when I had shorter hair. So what gives? I know they have length guides on their combs or something, why not use it? I know not all hairdressers are like this, but I have encountered 7 or 8 over the last 6 years. Someone PLEASE tell me why this keeps happening and how to prevent it?

(Sorry, I'm pissed and ranting b/c this has happened soooo many times before.)

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

Call the shop today and complain to the manager. She gave you poor customer service by not listening to you. Tell her you require a refund and ask her to mail the money back to you.

My hair is long (not as long as yours!) and I love my hair, I get compliments about it. I feel confident with my hair at this leangth. When you get a bad cut it sucks- it is so shocking to look in the mirror and see how much is gone! Its weird because I feel bald when I get a bad hack job even tho my hair is still below my shoulders. I understand completly! And for those who say "it will grow" thats a cop out answer. We know it grows, but the emotianal connection has just been messed with and we are ticked off! It is frustrating.

Next time you need a trim, ask a couple of friends for a referal. Call the shop and explain that when more than 3 inches is cut you feel horrible. Tell them what your expectations are, and ask them if they can accomidate you. I have a great person, if you lived in Washington I would give you her name!

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

I don't even go to the hairdressers any more because that has happened to me before and I also was pissed. I couldn't believe it. So now I just cut my own hair or have my sister or my mom cut my hair. I figure we could probably do a better job they can do.

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

soooo sorry 2 hear tht,

better luck next time

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

they think they know best. you have to go the top notch haircutters. they will listen to you and do want u want

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

Consultation by a hair stylist is very important. If your stylist did not consult with you prior to cutting your hair and making the communications clear I will not let that person cut my hair. I get my clients through referrals onl, since they have seen my work. I think you should do the same thing-ask friends! Stylist should update their skills and also business acumen.

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

Wow.......I'm sorry that happened to you! If you're going to a place like a Supercuts or somewhere in the mall......not that you CAN'T get a great hair cut in those salons, you certainly can but for the most part those are usually places to begin a career in the industry so many times the stylists don't have a tremendous amount of experience. Here's what's happening to you: When dealing with long hair it's often an optical illusion. If you begin with your perimiter guideline at the nape of the neck and you do, indeed, take off only 1" what ends up happening is that by the time you drop your next section, you need to remove 2" to follow the guide and with the next section it's 3" to follow the guide etc. And before you know it what you THOUGHT was only going to be one inch has now become 4-5! The hair on the hairline is always finer and will usually be shorter so I make sure to take a large enough section there to assure that my initial guide actually is in the body of the cut and not the finer, shorter baby hair. If I cut this finer, shorter, baby hair too short I will SURELY take WAY too much off of the body of the cut. This is a common mistake inexperienced stylists make.

My advice to you is this: find someone you trust and stick with the same person. Even if it costs you a bit more. Now, you may be asking yourself, "How do I FIND someone I can trust?". When you see somone who has great hair ask them where they get there hair cut and when you hear the same name or salon several times....that's where you need to go.

Communication is EVERYTHING!! Make sure you tell the stylist that you want only an inch taken off. If she tries to tell you that you need more than what you want taken off or it will look better if she cuts more or if she just seems to be not listening (Some stylists have HUGE egos and zero talent to back it up! ) GET UP AND LEAVE! If she wants to take you to the shampoo bowl without even looking at your hair, talking to you about your wants and needs, without putting her hands in your hair ......you got it, GET UP AND LEAVE! She should ask you many questions before shampooing your hair.....How long has it been since it's been cut? How do you style your hair every day? If you tell her you curl it with an iron, she should want to know what size iron...etc! And by all means don't be afraid to explain to her as you've done here. Tell her your past experiences and let her know that you're uneasy about the cut. This should instill some conservativism in her. Remember, you're PAYING for a service! Some people tend to forget that when they're in the chair.

I hope that's helped!

Again, sorry about the experience and good luck in the future!

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

I completely and totally empathize with you hun...however, I am on the other end of the spectrum...I am a hair stylist....and some people out there have NO BUSINESS being hair dressers...they give us a bad wrap....I, as a stylist, wont even touch a persons hair if I dont know exactly what I am doing...If a woman comes in and has long hair, I will go into cut mode and just take a piece off and show her exactly how much will be coming off...since its so small a piece, I can adjust the length after to be more or less, however she chooses...however, I am just one stylist, I hardly ever get any complaints from my customers, cause I stand in front of them, give them my full attention by looking in their eyes, and explain back to them what I am gonna be doing....I have a huge clientele base, cause I LISTEN....if a stylist doesnt give you their full attention when you are explaining to them what you want, then you can bet you arent going to get what you want.....for all you people out there who are looking for good haircuts, maybe you should try a "Supercuts"...I know they have gotten a bad wrap as far as being a "chop shop", but do all of you realize that these stylists are trained specially for giving quick and accurate haircuts? They are trained to cut quickly and accurately to give you the best service possible, and so that you dont have to sit in a salon all day....they have on going trainings there (every three months), to keep up to date on all the latest trend cuts, etc...Now, as I said before, not all people are meant to be hairdressers, just like in any other field, but these stylists at "Supercuts" are trained in excess, so that you dont have to pay $40. for an excellent haircut...another good thing about them is that ALL of their haircuts are guaranteed....if you dont like it, you can come back within seven days and request that it is fixed or request your money back...they are there for the clients....but just remember, we can't fix it if we dont know its broken....before, I let anyone out of my chair, they have to tell me their hair looks perfect...if it doesnt, I fix it before I let them up, if they say it looks perfect, then after that, It isnt my concern anymore. That is my signature on their head when they walk out the door, so I do my best...if more hair stylists, felt that way, we would not have so many "bad haircuts" walking around here....moral of the story, if you dont like it, tell them, you may hurt their feelings, but youre never gonna see them again anyway....all you have to say is simply, "I am deeply upset that you did not do what I asked you to do." And dont tip them....the tips are for a job well done....maybe if enough people do this, it will make them think before they dont listen to another client...best of luck to you all, and dont forget: SUPERCUTS......The End

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

that happened to me once when i was in third grade, the lady at hairzoo(idont go there anyomore) cout off like 6 inches!! my hair was like down passed my chest and she cut it like ight to my ears! i was so pissed

Why don't some hairdressers listen and/or use a guide for cutting long hair?

This has happened to me also. The first time, I got pizzed and almost punched the dog (they won't let me say ******), in the mouth. The place I went to was right up the road from me, about two blocks and had several other stylists in it. I went back, but I refused to let the same woman cut it again and told them, loud enough that the whole place could hear me, but not yelling, that she didn't know the difference between 2" and 6" and she wouldn't be chopping on my hair again. If I couldn't get a different one as a 'walk in' then I'd either go away or make an appointment with a different one.

A few years ago, there was a new one and she took off almost 8" for a two inch trim. I'd actually told her to trim it about even with the bra strap, which was about 2 or 3", but it ended up being just a little longer than shoulder length.

Being older and calmer, I informed her that either I'd forgotten to wear and bra that day, and I snapped it in the front just to prove I'd remembered it, or she never wore one and had no clue where the back strap would be. I didn't really get mad, but I was upset, and it will always grow back, and let's face it, some times the hair, especially mine at that time, needs a good whacking to get rid of the bad stuff.

It's so much better now that we've had the water softener installed though, that I'd probably get ticked should it happen again. That's why I let one of my friends do it for me now. She used to do it for a living and she's cheap! lol

Heck, I used to cut my daughters hair all the time, as long as she wanted it cut straight across the back. I didn't try to style it though, I don't do styles, just straight cuts. Even then I was careful. I'd touch her back at the end of her hair and tell her that's where it's at, then touch up where I thought she wanted it cut to and ask if that was right. If it was, the cutting then began. If not, then she'd tell me lower or higher and that's where I'd cut it.
