When cutting your own hair why does it tend to look so awful?

i got clippers and whenever i use them to save a few bucks people always tell me i missed a spot, is there a way around this when cutting one's hair solo?

Set up at least 2 mirrors to check yourself from all angles. Most men I know cut their own hair - they feel its a waste of money to spend $15-$20 for a clip at a salon. I agree. My husband hasn't had a professional haircut for years. If you get desperate, ask a friend or family member to do the back for you.

because your not a pro. duh

Because you haven't learned the technique of cutting your hair... it's better off to either go get a cheap haircut from Fantastic Sams or Cost Cutters... or another idea is go to a salon and ask a hairstylist how she would do your hair and then you'll know.

i've been cutting my own hair for a couple years now.

the key trick to getting those hard places is two mirrors. on infront of you and one behind you.

you may not get it perfect but it workd better than with only one mirror.

because you're not a hairdresser, and you cant see the way your hair goes properly.

i doubt a pro hairdresser can cut his/her hair nicely as well...
