How Does Cutting You Hair Make It grow Faster?

i am wanting to grow my hair longer and have been told to have it cut every 6 weeks.......

why do I cut it when i want it to grow?

it seems contradictory?

Spilt ends are your biggest enemy, once they start, your hair will get shorter by the day as they break off. Long hair is only really beautiful when in good condition and split ends will really detract from your look, so you should get your hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks.

There are some very rare exceptions, but hair on most people is genetically programmed to grow an average maximum of 6 inches a year.

If you believe that you have the right type of hair to grow it long then make a serious commitment to hang in there for the duration. Growing long, strong, luscious hair requires time, effort and focus.

Remember that the average person is genetically programmed to grow hair at the rate of 6 inches a year. If you want to grow 30 inches of hair, plan on waiting approximately five years to experience that length. Is it worth it? Only you can be the judge

Yeah it does but healthy hair grows faster by cutting it you get rid of the split ends and breakage and have healthier hair.

Damaged ends forever break off causing hair to appear never to grow. A trim doesn't make it grow faster but it will grow longer and healthier by getting rid of damaged hair.

when the hair gets old it splits. regardless of how healthy you think it may be. after time all hair splits. there is no cure for them other than cutting them off.

in reality if you don't get them trimmed every 6-8 weeks at least (sooner if your hair has a lot of breakage) they will split and keep getting shorter.

if you are getting it trimmed, make sure that you know the stylist and that they understand that you only want the ends snipped ....nothing more. some people "trim" 2 inches....and at that rate your hair will never grow.

your hair grows on the average of 1/2 in per month. as long as you don't take more than that you are fine.

It doesn't make your hair grow faster, it just gets rid of split ends... split ends make your hair weak and cause breakage, etc. so getting it trimmed keeps it healthy!

Cutting your hair has no effect on how fast it grows. However, regular trims will reduce split ends and possible damage from split ends, and make your hair appear thicker and more even as it grows, as all hair follicles grow in different phases.

depends on the hair. They say to get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks to get rid of split ends so it doesnt cause further breakage thus making hair shorter.

From my own personal expierence...that didnt help any, it just kept it at around the same length...especially since my stylist thought a trim meant 1 - 2 inches!!! I dont trim it anymore unless i start seeing a lot of split ends...
